The Rune Witch Element Wheel

With this deck, you can lay out the interpretations as you are accustomed to, but you can start with this one if you like. You can choose whether to read all aspects from the cards, the runes from the Major Arcana, or all 78 cards. You can also read astrology or numerology, colors, or spirit animals.

I created the Elemental Star (Wheel) from a shamanic ritual called the "Flower and Tree ceremony" to interpret the Tarot. Still, you can get a good foundation from the runes for this, mainly since it revolves around the elements. You can just as quickly lay out 5 cards in a row and arrange them in any order you prefer, but the elements guide fire, water, earth, and air, which are the foundation of all life. Looking at different cultures' costumes, such as the Swedish Sami costumes, you will find these elements represented in color.

Red for fire, green for water, yellow for earth, and blue for air. There are five elements: fire, water, earth, air, and ether (void). In some cultures, the void is considered to be metal.

These five elements are a foundation and symbolism for our experience here on Earth. Fire = work, Water = love, Earth = economy, Air = health, Ether = soul.

East is the direction for the element of Fire. It is morning (03-09) and spring. Fire symbolizes power, commitment, what you are passionate about, and your activity. The area shows how you act, will, temperament, and creativity.

The direction for the element of Water is south. It is daytime (09-15) and summer. Water symbolizes emotions ranging from hatred to love: empathy, emotional perception, and expression. The area shows your emotional experiences.

West is the direction for the element of Earth. It is evening (15-21) and autumn. Earth symbolizes security, safety, the practical, and the foundation—what you have or don't have. The area shows what you have, gain, and lack.

North is the direction for the element of Air. It is night (21-03) and winter. Air is symbolic of consciousness, thought, health, and personality. The area shows how you think, plan, and structure what you create from the power of thought.

The Void is the direction for all elements combined; it is everything or nothing. Around the clock (0-24) and the entirety of that. The Void is symbolic of the inner, the soul, and karma. The area shows the key to what is most important.

The four elements carry knowledge, as do the day and the year. Everything is connected; everything spins clockwise. Life starts in spring (March 21) as the sun rises (03-09) when sowing begins. Summer (June 21) is a time of growth, between 09-15 to harvest the day's work in the evening 15-21, just like autumn (September 21) and winter (December 21), night-time 21-03 is a time of rest and thought (dreams). If you use this template to lay out the runes, you will more easily see the whole picture and find it easier to learn the runes.

The day of the 21st, with three months in between, is are essential time during the year.
March 21 = spring equinox, the beginning of the zodiac (astrology) year.
June 21 = Summer Solstice.
September 21 = Autumn Equinox.
December 21 = Winter Solstice.

In the East, you find the morning but also spring, the energy of fire that deals with action, energy, and creativity: It is how you express your energy; some call it work, but I prefer to call it activity.

In the South, you find the day and summer, the water energy that deals with emotions. Everything from survival hatred to love and how you express your experiences. I prefer to use emotions rather than love; you also have impressions here.

In the West, you find the evening but also autumn, the energy of the earth that deals with growth, the material—everything from nothing to everything. Security is my word; for others, it is economy.

In the North, you find nighttime and wintertime, the energy of air that deals with thoughts to action, questioning, and identity. If, like me, you see that thought creates physical (im)balance, this is called the self or health.

In the center, called the Void, which is all the energies or just emptiness, you find neutral runes (purple) that affect the whole soul.

You decide first what you want an answer to, in general. For a day? A week? Or a specific question. You shuffle your cards, cut once, then place the top card to the right (East), the next down (South), the third card to the left (West), one card above card number 2, and then one card in the middle. (see the image at the top).

You now have five cards on the table. The first one tells you what is there for you in the morning, during the first period, or in the spring, what your action is. The second card (South) shows what is there for you during the day, the second period, and your experiences. The third card shows what is there in the evening, in the third period, and what is in your foundation, security, or economy. The fourth card shows at night or the fourth, last period, yourself. The fifth card shows what is in your soul.

If you get more masculine cards, you are in expression (experiences). You are in impression (experiences) if you get more feminine cards. Read them separately, and choose which symbols you want to pick up from each card.
